This series will be a space to explore your inner world from curiosity and compassion with some guidance. I offer you a step-by-step process, based in IFS (Internal Family Systems) principles, that you can use to connect with your parts and grow in Self. This is an embodied approach, weaving in somatic tools such as breath awareness, sensing and movement. Other practices include sharing, nonjudgemental witnessing, reflection and drawing.
Sessions begin with grounding in the body to help us nurture greater ease. Then we have an opportunity to notice the parts and qualities of Self are showing up today. We get to know them and identify their needs and help them to heal. This is all done in the context of a warm and supportive group container. Some practices are done alone, some are done in pairs, and others as a group.
In this class, you have an opportunity:
-Be seen and heard.
-Slow down and listen to your parts.
-Learn a protocol to work that works well with all types of parts.
-Explore practices that are relational, creative and somatic.
-Enjoy connecting with others on a path of healing.
-Nurture Self energy.
Participants often report feeling nourished and grateful to feel more at home in themselves. Many develop greater resilience. I hope that you will join me for this fruitful time of self-discovery.

IMPORTANT INFO
Participant Expectations:
You have done some parts work and you are able to:
-Listen to others without interrupting.
-Speak with respect and kindness.
-Refrain from giving advice, unless asked.
-Communicate your needs and make requests.
-Tend to your own triggers and come prepared with a few tools for self-care.
-Pause & take time to notice body sensations and emotions.
Important info:
-I welcome all genders to my groups.
-These practices can be therapeutic, this class is not a substitute for mental health counseling. If you are dealing with mental health issues, please have support from a professional.
- While I work gently and provide space for integration, these classes may catalyze the movement of emotions that you don’t have time to process during a session. You may want to schedule 10 or 15 minutes afterwards to continue integration.
-This work draws from Parts Work (Internal Family Systems), but doesn’t necessarily use all of the tools or in the order in traditional IFS. This approach is more fluid. I use the concept of a “part” more broadly. My goal is to establish a compassionate relationship to whatever is emerging and restoring a sense of wellness and safety. My background in Internal Family Systems is a 3 year study group with Wendy Weiss and the IFSCA Stepping Stones program.
-Somatic approaches draw inspiration from 2 years of training in Somatic Experiencing, and over 20 years of mindfulness practices, improvisational dance, including authentic movement and contact improvisation.
