1) Spring Series in Somatics & Parts Work at the Hidden Temple
Are you wanting to cultivate abiding self-compassion?
Are you seeking more tools for working with challenging emotions?
Do you want to grow in the context of a supportive group container?
I invite you to join me for this Spring Series. We slow down and engage with somatic practices, such as breath, movement and sensing, to access the wisdom of the body and find greater ease. We connect with others in playful and reflective ways, and I offer tools for working with challenging emotions, shifting limiting beliefs and healing the past drawn from Parts Work.
Parts Work is the practice of listening to the voices within. Our “parts” are our subpersonalities; they speak to us through thoughts, emotions and sensations. They have different roles, for example a part that organizes, a part that cares for others, a part that protects us from harm. There are different traditions for working with parts and I am incorporating the work developed by Richard Schwartz, also called Internal Family Systems.
Some of our parts can feel quite challenging, for example, a tender heart, an anxious belly or the thought of not being good enough. It doesn't work so well to repress them or try to change them. Instead, we center in "Self," the word Schwarz gives to the calm and clear aspect of our being, and greet our parts from here. We listen to their messages for us and find out what they are needing. When they feel supported and respected, they can release their grip and personal transformation can occur with more ease.
The practices I offer include movement, witnessing, writing, drawing, improvisation, guided meditations and sharing. Some practices are done alone, others in small groups or some as a whole group. People often report feeling relieved, spacious and refreshed. One participant described this work as homeopathic;
gentle, but powerful.
I offer you handouts and exercises that you can bring into your own healing work or use with clients.
Before signing up, I do want you to know that while this work is often very nourishing, it can at times touch upon vulnerable places or catalyze the movement of difficult emotions or sensations. While this is part of the process of healing, sometimes it can feel uncomfortable. I will be teaching skills for emotional regulation, but it’s also important to come with one or two skills for regulation already in your back pocket, for example; journaling, taking breaks or deep breathing, and please note, that while this work is therapeutic, it is not a substitute for mental health counseling.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns. I hope that you will join me for a dive into self-discovery and authentic connection.

2) Authentic Voice Day-Long
Postponed until Fall 2024
The Hidden Temple in Florence, Massachusetts
Registration required, See more details below.
Come howl, keen, sigh, weave sweet melodies, vibrate with beauty & whistle with dissonance.
Come bring your true Self, all of what you are, to explore Authentic Voice.
What is Authentic Voice?
Authentic Voice is a practice of making room for the sounds and songs that want to emerge from us at any given moment. We don’t go looking for something “authentic,” rather, our truth emerges from expressing what is right here, right now. This practice is similar to Authentic movement, an exploration of moving our body how it wants to move, and surrendering to its wisdom as it animates the whole of us.
We can all make so many different sounds, and those frequencies make up the totality of what we are. Our upbringing and social conditioning around our voices can limit those possibilities, creating stories that our voices “should” sound a certain way in order to be heard, and making some aspects of our expression off-limits. We can easily lose connection with the potential for truth, power, and healing within each of our voices .
At any moment, there is a voice within us that most clearly expresses what our somatic body is holding. We let go of striving and forcing. The way towards ourselves is sinking back into the truth of each moment. Our authentic voice has been there all along.
During this daylong we will gently guide you to sink back in.
Charlotte Malin and Mandy Snyder, two healing artists with a passion for supportive community, self-discovery, and soulful play, offer you an immersion into Authentic Voice, including sounding and singing, woven with self-discovery and creative practices. Designed for all levels of experience, from those who have a developed vocal practice to others who are just starting to befriend their voice, this will be a rich journey.
During the day we will…
You will leave this workshop with a deeper sense of connection to your voice and to the stories that your voice carries. You will gain more skills and confidence to use voice for your own healing and creative liberation. Together we will uplift one another’s voices, so that we may more fully give forth our gifts, truth, and service.
We hope you will join us.
